A detailed and instructional blog post about a PDF called "friends til the end". We all know the old adage: "Friends come and go but enemies accumulate." But what if your friends want to come and stay? What if they want to be more than your friend, they want to be your family for life? Well, it just so happens that they can. And all you have to do is take them in for a lifetime! Taking in a stray cat or dog is just one way you can be a hero. But what if you want to make a really big impact on your community? What if you want to do something that will not only make you the talk of the town, but also make people sit up and take notice? Well, there is another animal that needs our help. I'm not talking kitties and puppies, I'm talking about goats! Here in this great nation of ours, farm animals spend their lives in deplorable conditions. They are locked in tiny cages or roaming around in filthy pens with no food or water; they live with broken bones or rotting teeth, unloved and uncared for. We need your help to fix their little bodies so they can get out of the filth they are forced to endure. Here's how you can help turn a goat from a one-word sentence into a happy, healthy, productive member of society: You need to get on the waiting list for a baby goat. Check with your local shelter to see if they have any on their lists. If so, start waitin'! But if you can't get a baby goat from a shelter, check out your local animal control center or animal rescue center. They may have goats or other small farm animals that they will let you adopt if you promise to take good care of them and give them the love and attention they deserve. You need to start attending goat shows at your local county fair or farm shows. These are always held on the weekends, usually once a month, depending on the time of year. Attendance is small compared to other fairs, but these are some of the best times to meet goats! You need to find a goat owner who can show you how bottle-feeding works. If you have no experience with baby goats, it is recommended that you find someone who has raised them before they are ready for adoption. You can also do a Google search and find local goat owners who want to get together and show you how to take care of a baby goat. You need to find a goat that suits your personality. Is she or he stressed? Does he or she need an evening walk on the farm? Does she like carrots, apples, corn on the cob, and hayseed cookies? A new goat owner needs to get to know their new pet very well before they decide if they want this goat for life. You need continue to ask your local shelter or animal control center for new baby goats; once you have one, make sure you check with them regularly for more babies that they have in their care. cfa1e77820
